The Perks of Parklife - Manchester's Iconic Music Festival

As you may already know, last summer I made the journey over to Croatia for Ultra Europe. It was an incredible experience in its own right, but over the last 12 months I have slowly fallen out of love with the EDM scene. Instead of enjoying cake-throwing DJ's dropping the bass 24/7, I look for the most cutting-edge DJ's, producers and bands who have made it to the top of their game on merit, and merit alone.

Parklife is a music festival that embodies raw talent and hard working artists. Meticulously programmed from start to finish, the festival offers something a bit different — something with a little bit more substance.

Taking place in Heaton Park, Manchester every year, the festival has been graced with the presence of The Chemical Brothers in 2016, Wu-Tang Clan and Disclosure in 2015, and Snoop Dogg and Sam Smith in 2014.

The variety of acts on show is what's brought the two-day festival so much success, and it will be no different come the 10th of June this year. On the main Parklife Stage you'll be able to see the likes of George Ezra, Frank Ocean, The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club. The Warehouse Project Stage represents an absolute techno haven, and will showcase the talents of Carl Cox, Kolsch, Seth Troxler, Hot Since 82, Patrick Topping, and Jamie Jones (to name but a few).

The Sounds of the Near Future Arena is an extremely exciting prospect, and will host some of the most icnonic artists around like Stormzy, Rejjie Snow and London Grammar. Bicep, Eric Prydz, DJ EZ and Zara Larsson also play across the weekend.

The queues for toilets, drinks and other amenities are swift, and the staff are extremely helpful.
