Essentials for an Electric Picnic weekend

As Electric Picnic nears closer, and the temperature begins to rise in Ireland, all college students are beginning to feel the butterflies coming on! Yes….we’re nearly there!

For the last 2 years I’ve gone to Electric Picnic festival, which is a 3 day festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois. In those 2 years I’ve had completely different experiences….mostly due to weather. So for all the festival lovers who will be heading to what hopes to be a great 3 days, these are some of my quick essentials to bring with you.

Toilet Paper

This is the one that everybody forgets, so be sure to remember it. This is a well-known Murphy’s Law amongst festival goers….the toilet roll ALWAYS runs out!

Waterproofs

If the forecast says the weekend is going to be a scorcher, still bring a rain jacket. “Why?”- Because we’re in Ireland, we should know by now not to trust the weather predictions.

Food, Glorious Food!

Festivals food can be quite expensive and also when you wake up in the morning, walking all the way into the main area can make you feel defeated. This is why it is incredibly important to bring little nibbles with you to keep you going at campsite.

Speaker

Make sure to have a speaker for your campsite, with plenty of battery to last you the 3 days. During the day you'll be chilling at the tents and music is essential. It gets everyone in the mood for the night to come!

A Positive Attitude

Whatever your expectations are for the festivals, it may be different when you actually experience it, so go with flow and ENJOY YOURSELF! If you're not sleeping great, or you're hungry, or you just feel dirty it won't matter if you have the right attitude.
